I had a dream.
And with toppings of cream
I made it grow.
Day and night
I never lost sight
Of what it had to show.
And how proud was I!
When I looked up at the sky
Assured that it'll come true.
But I was a child
With ideas running wild
And with no sense of what's real.
Tonight I stand
At the edge of the sand
Beholding the vast and dark expanse
Which tells a story of no choice and only chance.
Where I am left to yield
To the ghastly new shield
Of the might Achilles
Who lies in the great old field.
